Opponents are able to match wits against a computer general or another player. To truly test you against your opponent, The Perfect General Internet Edition is played in matches, where you have a chance to prove your mettle on both sides of the battlefield. The Perfect General Internet Edition is also IP capable, and you can play human opponents over the Internet. It also has a map and scenairo editor.
